“Nothing could be further from the truth” is the statement one makes when covering up the truth. It was Gov. Rick Perry’s response to charges he is militarizing the border by sending 1000 US National Guardsmen as a show of force against the children fleeing violence in Central America.
Gov. Rick Perry posed by a mounted machine gun at the Rio Grande with Sean Hannity as prop, his tough guy “mission accomplished” moment. He claims that over 3000 homicides committed in the state of Texas since 2008 was committed by illegal immigrants. I wonder if Gov. Rick Perry understands that he is an illegal immigrant.
It just amazes me that anyone thinks it’s okay that he is spending his time doing this —the time we pay him for— when there are so many more important issues in this country.

Hannity has to be the most pointless person on TV. Ill conceived, nonsensical, blatant untruths which he spouts and thinks he will win any argument because he shouts the loudest and shuts down anyone who doesn’t agree with his right wing ape-like grunting.

Someone will take the time to research Perry’s claim, for it has to be a lie – just a cursory look for recent statistics at the largest cities showed about 800 or less murders – and there’s no way they were all by “illegal” immigrants. My question is, are they going to shoot those children? And if the children are sick, by international law they have to be allowed in for medical care. The failure of this President to stand up like a man and confront the ignorant bigotry in this country and the genocide in Gaza has led the Republicans to be as audacious as they are to vote to sue him. He should have told Perry to stand down.
