Named after Queen Idia the mother of Esigie, the Oba of Benin from 1504 to 1550. With her magical and medicinal knowledge she was a leading factor in the success of her son the Oba of Benin in the battlefields. She was the first Iya Oba (Queen Mother) of Benin. #JujuFilms
