Those Mutherfuckers hustling for ministerial and political appointments in the new President Buhari administration average a personal net worth of $100m and several homes in the UK, USA, Dubai and such. They got more cars in their driveways than Carl Worthington and his dog Spot. Wealth acquired from previous political jobs, cronyism, nepotism, fraud and straight theft. Top jobs like Speaker, Minority Leader, Petroleum Minister and the likes could cost in upwards of N500m to land that License to Steal.
You only need to drive around Nigeria to see how these Mutherfuckers could invest their stolen wealth in industries to enhance the same community they stole the money from rather they run businesses that exploit their community. They build tunnels, helipads and waterways to reach their homes rather than fixing the public roads to any one of their homes. – @OgbeniAyotunde
In Nigeria we have two major parties, the ruling PDP party and the main opposition party APC. The PDP has an umbrella as their logo and the APC a broom. The umbrella symbolizes protection from prosecution for their corrupt members. The APC on the other hand are trying to sweep 21st century corruption in Nigeria with 11th century brooms.
In Nigeria you will never catch any self-respecting politician campaign for donations from the general public to fund their campaign, because in reality they have no responsibility to their constituents. I don’t believe a voter has ever contributed a single naira to any party or candidate in the history of politics in Nigeria. Parties and candidates are bought and sold by Godfathers and Corporations not unlike in America.
Then there is the media and journalistic integrity or lack there of, in the last general elections I witnessed major media houses and journalists alike getting paid to cover actual news events. When it comes down to it the politicians and their Godfathers own the journalists and news organizations. Any news organization in Nigeria without ties to politicians or their cronies please stand up.
It is evident that politicians have no respect for Nigerian news organizations and their journalists, used to be President Goodluck Jonathan was close friends with Nduka Obaigbena the owner of Thisday Newspaper until Boko Haram bomb 2 of his offices, then Mr. President ran to the safety of confidence men disguised as men of God.
The PDP was kick started and largely financed by Atiku Abubakar and for his efforts he was rewarded with the Vice Presidency of Nigeria for 8years. Through party infighting he left PDP to join forces with APC a party financed by another Godfather in BolaAhmed Tinubu, who impatiently waits his reward.
In theory a politician should be the activist for the people they represent. In Nigeria and the Diaspora we have a culture of copycats, monkey see monkey do pirates, follow followers and a political structure top heavy in that ideology. There is a new wave of instant mix politicians in Nigeria today and like Ramen or Indomie noodle soups they have no nutritional value.
I know a few of the candidates running for House of Assemble seats in the next general elections, a couple I know from childhood and a couple from my college years in America. I can tell you that back then they showed absolutely no sense of care for anyone but themselves talk less of the people they now claim to want to represent.
Back then all these cats were interested in was making more money than their friends shopping at the Beverly Center for the latest Versace, Gucci or Hugo Boss threads while flashing their BMW, Benz and Hummers. I can debate that these guys are puppets on a string lured into politics strictly for the money, power and title.
In Nigeria when in a jam God calls on you to do one of two things become a politician or pastor, on both jobs you get to stand on a bullshit pulpit and bullshit the people. Nigeria is a country full of hardworking people and no strangers to multitasking so every pastor is a politician and every politician is a pastor.
If you drive in Nigeria you are accustomed to the constant stopping and searching and checking your particulars by the police, road safety and army, in Nigeria you can be charged and fined by road safety cops for not carrying a fire extinguisher in your car. These stops cost the average citizen in time and money but in large part deter the free movement of criminals. All I am saying is that we should check their particulars. Ogbeni Ayotunde
