As a society here in America, YES we are very detached from poverty. This is why our minimum wage is so low and most of the working class are one paycheck from being on the street regardless of the color of their skin. Because I am white does not mean I have something to fall back on. I don’t. Many people don’t. As americans we need to fix our economy and address why most of us are below and barely above the poverty line. Its about us as a nation not about what ethnicity we are in regards to what means we have or can fall back on. This is great topic of discussion… thank you.
