Is this henna or another vegetable dye? Is it permanent? The designs look oriental rather than tribal. It would be interesting to know how this design was chosen and if it is traditional. L.

I just started researching tribal tattoos in Nigeria, a tattoo enthusiast I am totally fascinated with Yoruba tribal tattoos. I am not sure what type of vegetable dye was used, they are permanent. Hopefully someone with more information will share.
