Hhhhaaaahaaa, what kinda masquerade hugs a woman? Must be in the spirit of the carnival

According to age old Igbo tradition, this is an abomination! Tufiakwa!
How can a woman hug a masquerade? I really don’t mean any disrespect for women, but growing up in the eastern part of Nigeria women ran to hide when masquerades are coming out and not to hug them.

You are right Eby it must be in the spirit of the carnival. 8WDee it is the same in Yoruba tradition as in Igbo where it is taboo for women to see masquerades.
