I have read bits and pieces about the Nok Civilization. To say that it was ‘most advanced’ is an understatement. Their iron workings preceded the European and Mid-East entry into the Iron Age by hundreds of years.
Does the government do anything about protecting archaeological sites?

Most of the artifacts from the Nok Civilization are in British Museums. In the 70’s after the Nigerian civil war the Igbo developed an after market manufacturing industry but were basically laughed out of the market for producing “inferior” products same model the Chinese have built an economy on. Nigeria runs on a federal system which means members of 500+ ethnic groups can be discriminated against depending on the ruling party.
