I see photos like these and I wonder: How do these women keep their purchases atop their heads? My husband and his family spent 2 1/2 years in Africa when he was a teenager. He would watch the women come down the mountain with a child strapped to their backs, carrying someing in their arms, and a basket of produce or something else perched on their heads. Coming down the mountain, their heads would naturally be bobbing as they walked, yet they never lost their purchase. To me, a klutz with weak ankles and poor posture, this is amazing.
